At some point, I knew that pretty much all I wanted to do is write songs I am inspired to write and then share them…with an audience of 2 or 30 or 1000…and that there were many places, people, situations and organizations in the world that could benefit from my music within which I’d have the opportunity to share my songs of peace and love…. The songs I write reflect the “Aha‘s” I’ve experienced through personal and spiritual growth.
Beginning in the mid/late 70’s I began to expand my singing experiences from club scenes to concerts, conferences, seminars, workshops, churches, prisons, living rooms, benefits such as for Green Peace, Amnesty International, women’s shelters and so forth. During my performances, audiences do seem to enjoy and be inspired by my lyrics and songs as well as the humour I can bring to the stage. I have had a long and full life with the common thread running through it of me singing, playing the guitar and trying to make people laugh since childhood – and starting in 1970, original songs, when I wrote my first one.
Over the years, my intention when I sing has always been to reach deeply into the present moment and into my heart to share with the hearts of my audience. And I have been fortunate to have sung throughout the Americas (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, Japan, Europe, Bolivia, Israel and Siberia.
In 1999, having met my life mate and soon to be husband, Terry Sheldon, I moved to Manchester, England, where we still reside. Remind me to tell you the sweet romantic story of how we came to be!
With her penetrating and intuitive lyrics that paint pictures, her music, combined with her soul’s voice, evokes feelings that seem to heal and untie the knots of life’s challenges.” ~Anonymous
